From the Mount of Olives to Mount Zion
Faiths & Holy Sites

We begin at the summit lookout of the Mount of Olives, with the whole Old City spread below. We walk down past the oldest Jewish cemetery still in use, stopping at Dominus Flevit and the Garden of Gethsemane with its ancient olive trees.

We cross the Kidron Valley and climb Mount Zion: the traditional Tomb of David, the Room of the Last Supper and the Dormition Abbey. A tour of places where Judaism, Christianity and Islam meet, and the stories each tells about them.

Route notes

A steep descent on the Mount of Olives road. Modest dress for churches. Best in the morning.
