In the winter of 1920 a few settlers defended the Tel Hai courtyard, and eight of them fell, among them Joseph Trumpeldor. We visit the restored courtyard, the Roaring Lion memorial and Kfar Giladi, and ask what turns a small place into a symbol.
We continue to Rosh Pina, one of the first moshavot, founded in 1882. In its restored lanes we hear about the pioneers, Baron Rothschild and life here more than a century ago, and finish at a café in the village.
